Keynote Speaker
Dr. Artemis Spyrou
Dr. Artemis Spyrou is an Associate Professor of Physics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, and the Associate Director for Education and Outreach for the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University. ¬¬She is a leading researcher in the field of Nuclear Astrophysics. Her research seeks to understand the nuclear reactions that take place inside stars, and are responsible for the synthesis of all known elements. She designs and performs experiments, which re-create astrophysical conditions in the laboratory, giving an insight into the inner workings of explosive stars. She collaborates with leading Nuclear Physicists, Astronomers, and Astrophysicists from around the world.
